Dear students,

I welcome you at the Thessaloniki International Student Model United Nations (ThessISMUN) 2008, a successful Model UN, EU and NATO, which started a few years ago at our University, gathering students from all Greek Universities and Universities from all over the world ready to show their diplomatic skills.

ThessISMUN offers you one of the most cherished and educational experiences, an effective tool to learn about the complexities of the world, how international community deals with economic and environmental concerns, human rights violations, disarmament and political conflicts and other global problems. A forum where you can enhance communication skills, learn about other countries, promote democracy, explore conflict resolutions and develop negotiations.

Your participation requires preparation as to the structure and functions of the Organizations, the Committees to which you are assigned, the issues of the agenda, the policies of the assigned country concerning these issues and mostly about the rules of procedure. You must behave as a real diplomat and dresses as one. You must be punctual, always present and very active during the meetings.

I hope to see you all in Thessaloniki, April 30, promising that my faithful assistant Miss Magda Tsakiri, the Secretary General and the Organizing Committee will offer you an unforgettable ThessISMUN.
